Check out this sand art video. How cool is that?! What kind of board/surface do you think they are using? Could you create something like this? Have you ever seen anything like this before? If you find any related videos, post the link, I would definitely be interested in seeing that! Does this inspire you? What did you first think when you read the title "sand art"?

very creative. when i first say the title sand art i was thinking something along the likes of sculptures made from sand but this was cool. it looks like the surface under the sand was glass with light shining threw it. very interesting, i have never seen anything like this before.
The surface looks like a plastic panel, but I am not sure what the artist used for the different colored lights in the background. It seemed like when they "erased" the sand, the light looked white. I agree with Christi - I thought of sand sculptures as well. I wonder how many times the artist did this design, or does she come up with a new one every time? She had good flow and it looks like she practiced it before. The thing that is the most striking is that this piece is not permanent. Is it a product of modern technology (i.e., video camera) that we will see more performance art and less work created with traditional methods like paint and chalk? Are our art museums going to be filled with computers and movies in the future instead of canvas and wood?
id leave a comment on this video but it says its currently unavalable so there's nothing to comment but to tell you that and im in school so i wouldnt be able to hear it.
This video was very creative, its amazing what people come up with.
I use to have a sand art picture...but thats different from what they are using. Im thinking they used colorful sand, then poured it on a clear board or glass table...used some kind of lighting under the glass..veryy sweet =)
I have never seen anything like this before. Were they really using sand? Sow long did they practice that? And are there any places that i may be able to do something cool like this?!!
