Paper-Thin Video Screen
Video in Print is a new technology from Americhip that enables a paper- thin video player to be embedded in a magazine, book or other product. The video can be up to two hours in length. The device is a small LCD screen with a flash memory. When a page is opened, the video is triggered to start automatically. The lithium battery lasts for about an hour before you have to recharge it through the USB port. The USB port can also be used to put your own videos on the device.
What do you think about this? Can you see any benefits? How about any potential dangers? Share your opinion!!

Woah that is so kool, but you think they want us to watch a commercial wherever we go! I mean come on we want a break from TV at some point but no we can't we have to be watching TV at all times now. Also isnt the page supposed to be thick because the little TV's battery would go their to make it work?
You definitely raise a good point. How much advertisement can we really be subjected to. I would argue that you are probably exposed to more advertisement daily than you even realize. Would one more really hurt?
I am really surprised that they have that kind of technology going. I think that it could be put to better use other than advertisements. They could also help in selling more magazines, and other publications although I'm sure it would probably cost more. I still don't get how people come up with this stuff, it's crazy.

that is a real good idea! im mad i didn't think of it. but they shouldn't use it for commercials and how much is it going to cost them??

I think by combining T.V. with a magazine will cause more people to read and and buy magazines. This is a great way to advertise because it's a lot of people that rather see it than read it.
The cost definitely seems like it might outweigh the advantages. Also I'm concerned about the battery, and if they are really just memory stick/flash drives, then what's to stop someone from helping themselves to a few of them while they are standing in the checkout line at the grocery store??

I think this is cool but it could be dangerous! For example at a restraunt if they had this installed in the check it'll be dangerous because who know's someone might try to rip it off and steal it. My suggestion is they shouldn't put it on about anything. Specific things like a magazine, newspaper, and a book. But on a restaraunt that goes to far and passes the limit!
